“Doubt: A Parable”
SANTA PAULA THEATER CENTER

“With Sister James as her tool, the older nun finds enough to vindicate her suspicions and moves quickly to bring in the mother of the boy she thinks might be too close to Father Flynn. As it turns out, Mrs. Muller is the one person with no doubt. She wants her son to get his grammar school education and move on to higher levels where she feels he will have scholastic and personal success. Whatever the situation at the school, she fights to have him finish. While she might not be certain about Father Flynn, she feels he has offered her son a compassionate listening post in a troubled period of his life. Mrs. Muller is played with clear-eyed, ferocious passion by Cheridah Best in a compelling performance.”

“I just attended your production of “Doubt” and felt that must tell you how impressed I was. I always enjoy your plays, but this was the very best I have seen. Please keep up the good work, you are such an asset to the community. Bravo! Bravo!”

“My wife and I attended Doubt last Saturday and I must say we were blown away. Having seen the movie (Meryl Streep, et al) we were concerned that our experience at the theater would be undermined. Far from the fact. We were stunned at the quality of the actors and their superb perfomances. All four of them should be exceptionally proud of their craft, as well as the director, David Ralphe. The talk among the theater goers as we left echoed our delight.”
